Title: Not on the Itinerary

Author: Elk D.

Genre: LGBTQ+ Contemporary Romance / New Adult

A heartbroken man flees to Chiang Mai to forget his best friend. A famous travel vlogger throws his phone at him instead. Some connections aren't in the plan.

Full Product Description:

Anton Chavez didn't come to Chiang Mai for the temples, the food, or the sunsets. He came to disappear.

Javi Roaming didn't come to Chiang Mai looking for anything but content. A travel vlogger with millions of followers and a camera he trusts more than most people, he's used to being the one drawing a crowd, not causing a scene. But a "mysterious crying sound" on a hotel rooftop turns out to be a stranger, and Javi's own panic sends his phone flying into the dark. He ends up apologizing to the saddest eyes he's ever seen, who also happens to be staying in the room right next door.

What follows isn't a whirlwind. It's slower and messier than that, closer to how people actually move through heartbreak: with setbacks, unread messages, and moments where healing looks less like clarity and more like just getting through the day. Chiang Mai isn't big enough to let Anton avoid his past forever, and it isn't long before he has to face it, right as something else, something he didn't expect, is happening in front of him.

Not on the Itinerary is a slow-burn, emotionally honest romance about grief that doesn't announce itself, love that shows up when you least expect it, and the quiet courage it takes to choose the person standing next to you. Grounded in the ordinary, complicated way people actually navigate heartbreak, it's a story that trusts its readers to sit with discomfort as much as with sweetness.

Nakakilig and worth reading

As someone who loves traveling, Not On The Itinerary felt like more than just a romance—it felt like a trip to Chiang Mai. I found myself wanting to book a flight because the setting became a character of its own.

Anton and Javi’s organic encounter, albeit funny at first, makes you really root for them.

I felt Anton’s pain and heartbreak when Nick rejected him. And then he had the nerve to get jealous when Javi was taking care of Anton??? Poor Brylle.

I love Javi’s warm and positive character. He’s a breath of fresh air for Anton. Javi didn’t rush Anton into moving on but he made Anton believe that it is possible. He made small, genuine gestures instead of grand actions, which are all believable.

If you enjoy stories that balance emotional healing with a strong sense of place, Not On The Itinerary is definitely worth reading.
