Ingomar Cowl (PDF Knitting Pattern)

The Name: Ingomar is a tiny Nova Scotia community in Shelburne County. Shelburne itself is home to the famous Whirligig and Weathervane Festival every Fall.

A delicate cable and lace cowl that whispers of butterflies and Spring.

Knit in the round, this cowl begins with a provisional cast on (PCO). Once the top edge is bound off with an Icelandic Bind Off (photo tutorial included), the PCO stitches are picked up and bound off in the same manner providing a beautifully matched upper and lower finish. The non-public side also presents an interesting texture.

Both chart and written directions for the chart are provided.

Note: Stitch counts will vary as stitches are increased in each of rounds 1 – 4 and are decreased again in rounds 7 – 10. Stitches should only be counted after a round 10 has been completed.

Circumferences of 22.5 (27.5, 55)” / 57 (70, 140)cm.
The medium and large are the same height (8.75” / 22cm) while the small is 6.25” / 16cm tall.
This pattern is easily adjustable by varying the number of pattern repeats.
