Looking Back: The Autobiography Of James A. Strauss
When my son Jim told me he wanted to write down my stories – this started about 1999 – I thought it was a lot of work about nothing. Jim said to me, “You have lived through some interesting times: You have many stories about growing up in the Depression, being in the navy during WWII, volunteer fire fighting, working as a driver/salesman for a bakery, working at both the old Monroe County Penitentiary and the county jail, being a man of faith and having some adventures.”
So, I told him a lot of stories.
