Hello. My name is Mark Taylor - I am a registered psychologist working in private practice in Canberra, Australis.  I work with many clients who see me for anger-related difficulties.  I am very interested in the area, professionally, and thought it time I provided resources for people to use, irrespective of where they live.  Remember, if you have ongoing difficulties, it may be time to seek professional advice.

Good quality sleep is so important irrespective of how old you are. Getting enough sleep helps maintain health, concentration, and happiness. It also allows you to enjoy each and every day. Keep this diary for a week. Remember the importance of establishing a calming bedtime routine before bed each night [warm bath/shower; listening to relaxation music; using relaxation techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation] so as to make the necessary associations between the body and the mind that you are preparing for sleep.  It is also important to go to bed when you feel sleepy/tired & not before (and over time establish a routine), to not read, watch TV, have conversations/arguments in bed (electronic, phone or otherwise), to keep your bed only for sleep, to turn the light off when you get into bed, to relax/tell yourself sleep will come when it is ready, and then to just enjoy the experience of relaxing and falling asleep.
