In 1792 General George Washington was elected the President of the United States by a unanimous vote and this would be the last time a president would be elected unanimously. Although the founding fathers had created a new nation, people still have opinions and different points of view. With the new nation people generally fell into one of two categories, Federalists or Antifederalists. In truth both the Federalists and the Antifederalists wanted what was best for the country and its people, they simply disagreed on how to do so.
