The content is primarily aimed at those within football (soccer) but there are many transferable ideas which can be implemented in other sports.

This bundle is made up of 2 e-books, each ebook is made up of 8 fantastic presentations (this package includes the full chapters in video form) which have been transcribed and were originally delivered as part of our online virtual conference’s in 2017 and 2018. The theoretical and practical advice from the coaches and practitioners come from their own experiences in the beautiful game and are presented in a way that you can take the ideas and put them into practice immediately, with the players in your club or academy. Camilla studied Applied Psychology at Bristol University then went onto Loughborough to do her Sport & Exercise Psychology Masters at Loughborough University. She works at STFC and runs their Sport Psychology program for U12’s, U13’s, U14’s, U15’s, U16’s, U18’s and done some work with the professional squad, and individual work with them.

Philippa is a BASES accredited Sport Scientist specialising in Sport Psychology support. She has worked in academy football for over eight years, currently at Manchester City and previously at Fulham Football club. As well as heading up the psychology department at Manchester City, she is also completing my PhD with Loughborough University. About Sara

Following a successful playing career which ended because of injury, Sara began coaching in 2011. To enhance her knowledge in the world of sport and exercise, Sara began studying the BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Sciences course as a full time student in 2013. Sara joined the sports coaching department of Wrexham Glyndwr University in 2016.

Sara continues to work as a level 1 and a level 2 coach educator for the FAW Trust and continues to progress as an educator within the FAW coach education pathway.

In this presentation, Claire takes a look at the different identities that players have (or frequently don’t have) and what happens when their shirt is taken away due to injury. Claire uses a case study of an injured player and gives practical examples of interventions that you can also use to implement with injured players.

Gary Curneen | UEFA A Licence Coach | Creating a winning culture

About Gary

Gary Curneen is the current assistant coach at Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL (women’s professional league). Gary previously was the head women's coach at California State University Bakersfield, where he led the program to a first ever second place finish and was named Coach of the Year in 2016. Gary has started Modern Soccer Coach to help educate other coaches and provide avenues for coaches  to learn from some of the best.

Prior to Cal State, Gary was the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at University of Cincinnati and Head Women's Soccer Coach at Wingate University. Gary holds a UEFA 'A' License from the Irish FA and a "Premier Diploma" from the NSCAA.

Gérard Jones has over 13 years experience coaching across most levels in the game, having worked in the U.K., U.S.A., Italy, Norway and New Zealand. Jones has previously been a Director of Coaching in the U.S. as well as being a former U21 Assistant Coach with Bradford City, an Academy Coach at Rochdale and a non-league Manager at Eccleshill United FC. Ian has vast experience coaching across all levels of the game, his previous clubs include Fulham, Barnet and Portsmouth, as well as 3 years as Technical Director of Coerver Coaching. This chapter will discuss the principles and practices that guide psychological intervention with sports injuries in youth soccer players and encourages a psychological approach to injury rehabilitation for professionals working within sport. Returning to sport following injury is typically a main concern of injured players, however players’ physical and psychological readiness to return after injury do not always coincide. This chapter aims to introduce key psychosocial considerations during sports injury rehabilitation and subsequently share practice around how physical and psychological rehabilitation can be intertwined.
