Finding Love

Karley dreaded going back to the slow-paced life of Garrett, South Carolina, the place she used to call home, even if it was just for a few days. But she would certainly go for Mrs. Miller, her art teacher, who got her out of that hillbilly hell of a town. Mrs. Miller had been sick for a while and she didn’t know exactly how much time she had left. There was nothing about Garrett that Karley was looking forward to seeing, not even her beauty- pageant- pushing momma. It was the best day of her life when she cut her perfect long blonde hair into a cute short dark brown pixie cut, and it fit right in to her fast-paced New York City life and it pissed her momma off at the same time.
