*Ayodhya* Background: Demolition: Judgment This book is a compilation of essay, articles and graphic tables around the issue of Babri demolition. The background of dispute is given in detail. The mechanics of the dispute coming up during the British rule is outlined. The archeological and historical evidences are marshaled to prove that there is no evidence of Ram Temple being at that spot. The politics which led to Babri demolition and the consequent violence is analyzed. Babri issue was a major identity issue which was propped up by communal forces to consolidate their divisive politics. The articles written at various times to understand the nature of this communal politics is outlined in various articles. The Judgment of Ayodhya dispute was again a sort of shocker, as faith was made the basis of judgment and historical issues and evidence was relegated to the background. The implications of judgment and the demand of communal forces to hand over the whole land to them for a grand Ram temple is taken up for analysis. The book gives an overview of the whole issue in a concise manner. In the end a very comprehensive chronology of events has been incorporated.
