The mechanics of the dispute coming up during the British rule is outlined. The archeological and historical evidences are marshaled to prove that there is no evidence of Ram Temple being at that spot. The politics which led to Babri demolition and the consequent violence is analyzed. Babri issue was a major identity issue which was propped up by communal forces to consolidate their divisive politics. The Judgment of Ayodhya dispute was again a sort of shocker, as faith was made the basis of judgment and historical issues and evidence was relegated to the background.
