Nordic Lace Hat
My Nordic Lace Hat knitting pattern was inspired by the delicious silk and merino blend yarn it is worked in; Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend DK. I purchased the yarn two years prior to writing the pattern but I was unsure what to make with it. There are subtle colour changes throughout the skein and they come through so well in the lace pattern.
It can get cold between seasons here in England and I wanted to design something to keep the chill off in Spring and Autumn. However the Nordic Lace Hat has also proved to be the perfect accessory when camping in the summer as the lace eyelet pattern is excellent for keeping your temperature right.
The 8-row stitch pattern is really straightforward, making this a good choice for intermediate beginner knitters and those learning how to knit lace patterns. After the ribbing the you will work the repeat several times before working the crown. The decreases hidden in this section and designed to look like a flower on the top.
Instructions are to knit flat or work in the round and the sizing ranges from toddler to large adult.
