One of many things the nervous system is responsible for is the unconscious coping mechanisms you rely on to create comfort.


Whether grabbing a snack from the pantry, pouring another glass of wine, or scrolling mindlessly through your phone to relax, these actions only temporarily relieve the uncomfortable energy you feel in your body.


Regulating your nervous system, on the other hand, is taking intentional action to process your emotions and liberate the pent-up energy causing discomfort. 


It can be a bit uncomfortable when you first learn to regulate your nervous system because you’re being asked to feel your emotions. But with the right tools and awareness, you can shift from tuning out and turning off your mind to feeling more aligned, balanced, and, dare I say, energized.


This is a two part workshop.


In the first workshop, we’ll explore the nervous system and learn how to map it. The map is especially useful because at any moment you can pinpoint where your nervous system is, apply a regulation tool, and come back to a regulated (read: calm and mindful) state.


In the second workshop, you’ll learn specific regulation tools, how to use them, what they do, and why they work. and learn a bit about meditation and how to create a simple meditation practice for yourself.
