Life in the Light

I am no ‘seer’ 
Believing in his ‘vision’, 
I am no ecstatic 
Robbed of judgement 
By his intoxicated state. 
I am no poet who 
– under no obligation – 
Creates a ‘world above’ 
From his art and desire. 
I am no thinker 
Who thinks up a world 
Appropriate for thinking 
And offered to thought up opinion 
I stand forever 
Within eternal experience, 
My words would bring news 
Of truth only created by the eternally real: – 
And remain truth 
Even when the body goes cold 
And no thought stimulates the brain, 
Which once lovingly preserved 
The knowledge of such truth.
