VET MRI Safety

𝘝𝘌𝘛 𝘔𝘙𝘐, 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘙𝘐 - 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘺! 🙄

I've put together a carousel highlighting some of the 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐬 of 𝐕𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐑𝐈 safety. Human MRI has been used for the last 40ish years, but VET MRI is quite new (relatively).

However, the safety issues associated with it are as old as the modality itself!

While all MRI experts and regulatory bodies deeply focus on Human MRI safety and MRI innovations, 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬.

If MRI safety is a mammoth challenge for Human MRI, imagine the VET world!!

𝐕𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐑𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 is a topic completely overlooked by the MRI community and a patient cohort that usually doesn't gather much attention on MRI and MRI safety conventions.

As a community, we have the responsibility to get together, and find solutions for a 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓, 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑴𝑹𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 - for us and mainly for our patients, being them 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥
