Namaste Care is not about doing more.
It is about slowing down, noticing what matters, and responding with greater comfort, calm, and connection.
This programme shows how Namaste Care can live not only in dedicated sessions, but across everyday care home practice.
Because even in advanced dementia, the need for comfort, dignity, and human connection does not disappear.
As dementia progresses, many traditional approaches to care no longer meet the person’s deeper needs.
Residents may experience distress, withdrawal, or long periods without meaningful connection.
Staff may feel unsure how best to respond.
Families may worry that the person they love is slipping further out of reach.
This programme offers a practical way forward.
Using Namaste Care in practice, teams can create more calm, more comfort, and more meaningful connection — through structured sessions and throughout everyday care.
Helping care feel more human, even in the later stages of dementia.
Through this self-paced programme, you and your team will learn how to:
✓ Understand the changing needs of people living with advanced dementia
✓ Create calm, supportive environments
✓ Use sensory approaches to support comfort and connection
✓ Deliver meaningful Namaste Care sessions
✓ Respond to distress with greater confidence and compassion
✓ Embed Namaste Care into everyday practice across the whole home
Each module is practical, accessible, and designed to translate directly into real care home practice.
Many training programmes focus on increasing knowledge.

Across four modules, it builds the understanding, confidence, and skills needed to create calm, comfort, and connection — through both dedicated Namaste sessions and everyday moments of care.

Amy is a dementia specialist with an MSc in Dementia Studies and a deep commitment to improving care for people living with advanced dementia. She is also the co-founder of the Scottish charity Namaste Care Education and Resources (NEAR), where she supports services to bring more compassion, presence, and connection into everyday care.
At the heart of Amy’s work is a simple but powerful belief: the person is still there — still communicating, and still deserving of comfort, dignity, and meaningful connection.
Her approach has grown from years of hands-on experience and her dedication to Namaste Care education. Through this programme, she gently guides care teams to move beyond task-based routines and towards more relational, presence-led care.
Amy understands the challenges care staff face, and she aims to help them feel confident, supported, and reassured in the care they provide. Above all, she wants every person living with dementia to experience moments of comfort, connection, and being truly seen.
