The Cabin - Lesson Plan

This lesson explores the concept of solitude and why some people may want to live away from society or at least spend time alone. During the lesson, students have the chance to discuss their own feelings about being alone and away from technology. They also have the chance to build the story of the woman who lives in the cabin and her past life as a ballerina.

The lesson includes a variety of discussion and fluency development tasks. These are followed by some suggestions for digital research and creation follow-up tasks. It’s not necessary to use all of the tasks in the plan, you can choose to use any of the tasks individually or change the order of the tasks depending on the approach you want to take and the level of your students.
