On 23rd September 2025, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issued a new circular directing all industries with Online Continuous Emission and Effluent Monitoring Systems (OCEMS) to register and connect with the newly launched OCEMS Portal (ODAMS) @ https://cems.cpcb.gov.in/#/p/login.
This directive, issued under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, emphasizes the government’s push for real-time pollution monitoring and self-regulation by industries.
Industries are required to complete their registration and connection to the new OCEMS Portal (User Manual) within the following timelines:
- Industries in NCR-Delhi → by 15th October 2025
- All other industries across India → by 15th November 2025
The CPCB’s directive to onboard industries onto the new OCEMS Portal (ODAMS) marks a significant step in India’s environmental governance. With strict timelines and enhanced technology, this initiative will strengthen the country’s commitment to pollution control under the “Polluter Pays” principle and support the vision of a cleaner, sustainable future.
