I am proud to annouce the realease of version 1.10 of GiraFX that brings improvements and cool new features. This upgrade is free for existing subscribers. Here are the new features:
- Official support track level video FX chains. Altough this was possible in previous versions, this was a tedious process but no more!
- The zoom factors in "girafx:video source" are now in % of the source original size with linear scaling and the final pixels dimensions are displayed.
- New preset "girafx:video source/repeater" that combines a single video source in all positions defined by a positioner.
- New preset "girafx: positioner/snow flakes" that simulate the behavior of snow flakes and also that of bubbles (like the ones in a fresh glass of beer). The source repeater has been designed for this positioner initially but works equally well for all positioners.
- new "mask/logarithmic transparency" preset. It makes dark pixels transparent with a logarihtmic progression toward light ones. It makes surprizingly natural transparencies with visualizations effects like spectrograms.
- "util/pre-resize" is renamed to "util/pre-resize & rotate" now support arbitrary rotation. This preset is useful in some context like normalization of video footage coming from contributors' cell phones.
- "pre-mixer/transparency from 2nd source" has been eliminated and has been replaced by the much simpler to use "mask/transparency from 2nd v/src". It translates the contrast information from a second v/src to create an alpha plane for your v/src.
- "util/zoom lens" has been simplified and is now included in all packages. Contrary to util/resize, this one will zoom on a section of your v/src while keeping the same image size even when varying the zoom factor.
- "util/jump to item root" has been regrouped with v/mixer and v/src preset and rename d to "jump to item root" for consistency.
- For existing projects, it is possible to make previous version presets coexist with the new ones but let me know if you need to do so and I will publish quick "how to" tutorial video.
