Featured Quilt

When I released the original Vortex block pattern in 2019, it was named for the way that it represented a swirling mass of air or water. I loved how versatile the design was and that it could be tessellated and joined to multiple vortex blocks in so many ways.

The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and global unrest, alongside my unexpected and premature journey through menopause has meant that this block design has taken on a new literary meaning for me and has come to symbolise the tumult of overpowering emotions racing through my mind.

Despite feeling surrounded by a ring of towering thunderstorms, I have found much comfort in being able to sit quietly and stitch my worries away even if only for a few moments.

I've included my project notes for this quilt in with the Vortex EPP Block pattern so you can stitch your own version if you wish.
