Les Kincaid was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to California at age 12 to spend the summer with his father and stepmother. He shortly discovered a passion for food because of his step-grandfather (who was an executive chef-retired). Started cooking for the summer visit and by September 1st was preparing three meals a day. His family moved to San Francisco and he was hired for his first culinary job at 14. Because of his love of food he has been cooking almost every day since.
