I built a business around helping women plan.
Planners, lists, sticky notes, calendars, putting things in order and figuring out what needs to happen next.
So, starting a blog called Life Between the Plans shouldn’t be shocking.
I’ve learned the hard way that life doesn’t always follow the plan.
And if I'm being completely transparent, some of the biggest, hardest, funniest, most beautiful, and most life-changing moments of my life were never written in my planner.
That's what this blog is about. You see the plan, but you don’t always see the story.
Social media has a funny way of showing us the finished product.
You see the event.
You see the balloons.
You see the business.
You see the products created.
You see the smiling picture with my husband.
You see me being a mom and grandmother.
You see the post about something I've accomplished.
You see me encouraging somebody else to keep going.
But what you don't always see is what happened BEFORE the picture or even after it.
You don't see every conversation.
Every disagreement.
Every doubt.
Every mistake.
Every time I changed my mind.
Every time I wanted to quit.
Every time I was sure something was going to work…and it didn’t.
Those are the stories I want to tell here.
Yes, I'm a planner. But I'm also a wife. A mom. A grandmother. An entrepreneur. A woman of faith. A friend. A woman who has gotten some things right and plenty of things wrong.
I'm a woman who has had beautiful seasons and difficult ones. I've celebrated. I've cried. I've questioned. I've prayed. I've started businesses, changed directions, made mistakes, learned lessons, loved people, lost things, gained things, and grown in ways I never expected.
And somewhere in all of that, I realized something... there is so much life happening between the plans.
That's the part I want to talk about here.
I don't want this blog to be another place where everything is wrapped in a pretty bow.
Sometimes the story might be funny.
Sometimes it might be messy.
Sometimes I'll tell you about something that happened in my marriage.
Sometimes we'll talk motherhood, family, business, faith, friendship, or entrepreneurship.
Sometimes I may share something I learned the hard way.
And sometimes I might just tell you a story because it's too good not to tell lol
There won't always be five steps.
There won't always be a worksheet.
And I promise I'm not going to end every story by telling you to buy a planner!
Sometimes we're just going to talk.
I want this to be the place where I share a little more of the woman behind Plan & Purpose.
Not just what I do. Not just what I'm building. But who I am becoming while I'm building it.
Because behind every plan is a person trying to figure life out. Behind every goal is a story.
Behind every accomplishment are things people never saw.
So welcome to Life Between the Plans.
Because life doesn't always follow the plan and I guarantee you'll relate to some of them, because there's a story behind your smile, too.
