Xunming Du

Professor Du has been working in Great Basin College for more than ten years. He believes it is very important for students to see how math questions need to be worked step by step. Static notes may not really help students to learn math. So in his online classes, Professor Du has made more than seven hundred video clips. His students say that Professor Du’s web intersection is the best since the students took the online classes. In the past four years, Professor Du has organized his teaching notes and related videos in PreCalculus. The work eventually ends up with an innovative eBook. The entire book contents, including a good percentage of exercise questions, are explained in video. The eBook’s animation graphs and hyperlinks’ features amaze Professor Du’s colleagues. With the innovative features, readers may include college students, high school students, adult students and the students who prepare SAT or ACT. Teachers can use the book to flip the classroom. Professor Du is interested in the interdisciplinary of mathematics analysis and statistics. His research paper titled A note of wavelet variance is published in the journal of Communications in Statistics – Theory and Methods, Vol. 37, Issue 5, pages 737-745, March 2008.
