Stagnant Critic
I lie down in psalms of wisdom—full of corrections, strictures on love and fulfilled promises of hope. They comfort and embrace my unforgiving enemy—so critical and abusive of all that I think, all that I say, all that I do. So wicked in its slaughter of memories, of good things unveiled and of perceptions of a brighter future; for that vindictive foe I cannot seem to defeat is the one who sets these clever, logical, diabolical mind traps of failure and smiles mockingly through the mirror’s reflection of me. Self-critical, I am a puzzle of broken pieces.
Yet there is a sound older than the ocean's song or a mountain's voice, or even the screeching owl’s. It rushes past in strength and stealth, invisible to the eye but felt upon my skin, raising goosebumps and squeezing tears out of a heart that had grown too numb. It slid into view like a tornado's symphony, heralding things to come, a sober prophecy; its subtle nudge shook me back and forth to accept change with courage, to take heed and move, to become what I always run away from...
This constantly urging soft and gentle breeze whose mighty power, extends in touch within the organs of my body as I breathed in its wisdom, letting it ignite and revive my dried up blood and aching muscles, resetting a sunken spirit's software that had forgotten its nature and purposeful calling. The breath of God is the only voice that knows my sins but still calls my name holy. It holds my hand and guides me Home. It speaks of unending love in the dark and is the purest Light I’ve ever beheld.
Synopsis
Unchaining Freedom Trilogy - Book 2
Fight Your Demons: Procrastinating Your Inner Healing
How do you fight your demons? They don’t want to die, or be forgotten or have their power taken away. You must show up to this war. You must not run away from the overwhelming and potential intimidation of loss. You must never give up fighting the battles you will encounter here. You see, it is a war that has nothing to do with the physical, material or even emotional world we live in and know to some extent. Writers from around the world come together to bravely show you how fighting them with even the barest minimum strength is better than remaining stagnant, how the very war you find yourself in is the fight for your soul and how using your voices is the only consistent way out of the maze of darkness.
