Come Find Me
Come find my heart’s hiding place
Please knock down its barriers
I cannot say what I feel
Days lost in habit.
A Bizzare Limerick
A peddling goose gave a cow his boot
To walk for miles using only one foot
A quest to find a purple shrub
Where grew a funny tiger cub
And rip him out from his fixed root.
Sevenling Horror
The woman was known as an incomparable beauty,
With gorgeous ebony hair cascading in temptuous waves
And a voice that was soft and melodious as a canary.
Yet she had spent her days feeling sad about the unfortunate,
Hiding her sadness by making others laugh
And refusing to burden others with her pain.
What a pity she committed suicide.
A Shakespearean Sonnet Of Farewell
Adieu sirrah, my time beckons now
Alas, for plans stuck in sweet memories
To thy noble brave heart, I take this bow
For thou has always brought life’s remedies.
Ay, thou art the perfect star of silver
Molding bitter minds to its greater heights
Besides the ever running deep river,
I sit beneath the moon to watch these sights.
Give me leave to hold thee in my frail arms
One kiss before I falter in my quest
Fall once more these forgettable charms
I’m drowning in waves of eternal rest.
I won’t forget thee in this lifetime shared
For our wild hearts have done all that we dared
Synopsis
Revised Edition 2024
Ever felt like your voices had frozen within your heart like ships at a port longing for its freedom? Writing poetry by inventing forms or following classic ones are one of the best ways that help with writer’s block. The Form Runners And Inventors Challenge is Ink Gladiators Press’ first workbook. It was conducted by Our Earthians Community Group on Instagram and is the third book in The Challenge Collection. Our authors invented new poetic forms by giving them new paths so runners could find and run along with them. The forms in this book were selected based on originality, popularity and simplicity of rules for others to follow. The Form Inventors also handpicked their first Form Runners to get published in this anthology. If you are someone working through a writer’s block but who also enjoys working on new poetry forms, then this is tailor made for you.
