The guy you used to compete with just bought a condo.
Your sibling suddenly wakes up at 6am to run.
Your neighbor is growing herbs like he’s starting a farm.
Your ex somehow looks like life is working out perfectly.
Your colleagues are talking about “next moves” again.
Even the uncle downstairs is doing pull-ups like he’s training for something.
And you’re there… holding your kopi, thinking:
Am I behind?
Here’s the uncomfortable truth.
Most people are not moving forward.
They’re just moving faster.
Busy is the easiest way to look like you have direction.
It impresses people.
It fills your day.
It gives you something to say when someone asks how you’re doing.
But being busy and being clear are two very different things.
A lot of people are:
Following paths that don’t fit.
Chasing goals they don’t even want.
Trying to impress people who don’t care.
Running harder… just to avoid thinking.
Because slowing down means asking a dangerous question:
“What am I actually doing all this for?”
So instead, we stay busy.
Not because it works.
Because it distracts.
Here’s the part most people won’t admit:
Some of the people you think are “ahead”…
are just more committed to a life that doesn’t fit them.
So before you rush to catch up…
Ask yourself:
Are you building something you actually want?
Or just trying to look like you’re not falling behind?
Be honest.
Which one is it for you?
If this hits a little too close, I wrote something for you.
Not about doing more.
About stopping what doesn’t matter so your life can finally move forward.
