My name is Nanou Doyle. I was born in Provence and grew up a the Poitou-Charentes region of western France, where the terroir – the soil in which we grow our food – is crucial to the local agriculture industry. After many years abroad, I’ve found myself fascinated by the different attitudes elsewhere to food. Now, back in the pays du chèvre (the land of goats’ cheese) with my French-Australian kids and my Irish-Australian husband, I’m delighted to share the French relationship to food with my friends abroad. Even if they do keep calling me “the skinny French chick”.
