Sunset City

These five young men are already creating waves on the Gold Coast music scene with their cutting edge, electric sound and upbeat dirty pop. "With a catchy, fresh sound and a fun, energetic vibe, it won't be long before Sunset City begins making waves on the Australian pop music scene. A great new band to keep an eye on!" George Sheppard. - Sheppard. Featuring on radio stations such as Hot Tomato while preparing for their massive ‘End of Summer Debut EP Launch Party’ on the 21st of February at Surfers Paradise’s Beer Garden, Sunset City’s year is already shaping up to be an adventurous one. They are getting ready to remind Australia that people love to dance, have fun and escape reality through mind-blowing music. Scooter from Hot Tomato think they are “A driven bunch of musicians. Ep’s got a real Michael Jackson, Quinsy Jones Vibe”. While they describe their sound as a reflection of their EP’s name ‘Neon’ “It is like a neon vibe, an electric influence which is darker than pop but fun and exciting”. They do this by pushing the boundaries of the public’s normal perception of what a band can achieve. Sunset City are all things pop and create that atmosphere wherever they go. Their pop culture inspiration of dance, beach and summer is one that creates an essence of fun and good times whenever there is a party brewing. They started in Burleigh Heads almost a year ago as a three piece, with Paul, Matt and Rob. Understandably, they needed more instruments to expand their soundscape and soon enough they quickly grew into a five-piece band with Max and Brady joining the mix, this was when their unique sound was truly discovered. Once they came together they were fast to realize that the musical connection between them was not one that could easily be let go, hence Sunset City became what it is today.
