(Plus Lemon Myrtle + a few easy DIY blends)
These two oils — Peppermint and Lemon Myrtle — are part of the May Loyalty Rewards Gifts with Young Living, so I thought I’d share a few simple ways we actually use them at home.
Nothing complicated, just everyday, real-life uses.
Peppermint is one we always come back to, and Lemon Myrtle is a favourite in our home when we have it on hand (especially for my daughter).
Peppermint (cooling, refreshing, and deeply supportive)
Peppermint has a strong affinity for the respiratory and digestive systems. It’s known for its cooling and soothing effects, making it useful in simple, everyday wellness routines.
In our home, we use it for:
- Head tension & mental fatigue
- Diluted and applied to the temples, forehead, or back of the neck.
- Energy & focus
- Diffused or inhaled when feeling tired, flat, or mentally foggy.
- Digestive comfort
- Used (diluted) on the abdomen after meals or when feeling unsettled.
- Nausea support
- Inhaling the aroma can help ease queasy feelings.
- Muscle tension & aches
- Used in simple massage blends after busy days or physical work.
Peppermint is also commonly used in aromatherapy compresses and roll-ons for head tension and general comfort.
Peppermint blends well with:
Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary, Spearmint, Grapefruit, Bergamot, and Frankincense.
Lemon Myrtle (fresh, uplifting, and a family favourite)
Lemon Myrtle has a beautiful, clean, lemony aroma that feels both uplifting and calming.
It’s one of my daughter’s favourites when we have it in the house, and she often reaches for it in simple blends or natural perfumes.
It’s often shared for its fresh, cleansing-style aroma and uplifting feel in everyday use. It pairs really well with peppermint
We mainly enjoy it for:
- natural perfume blends
- diffuser blends for a fresh home scent
- simple roll-ons with calming oils
