I'm loving this a ton so far!!

I'm at the part when the very significant thing happens (THE bite). It's been a bit since I read a book where I feel like I'm apart of what's happening in real time, & am not confused on what the location/actions look like.

He started his period?!! Does becoming a werewolf cause hormones to revert back even when on T?!—oHhh I'd lose my shit!!😭😭

Hunter is breaking my heart. This poor kid is going through supernatural levels of gender dysphoria, paranoia, & stress. I can barely read with tears in my eyes..

Gabe is a real one! That's an ally!

Hunter's nightmares are def from the werewolf's pov.

Riley irritates me. Her boyfriend is a pos, that's why he got suspended. Why the hell is she getting mad at Hunter for?🙄 (I know why but it's stupid)

Hunter waking up, going outside & a voice in his head saying "you"— this hivemind, or just mind link thing is creepy! but also really cool ngl. I'm interested to know the symbolism behind that moment.

PREPARE FOR A LONG ANALYSIS RAMBLING lol

"When you're like this your body is yours." Lawrence's arguement about bodily autonomy & acceptance of turning into a werewolf is contradictory. What about Hunters human body? That's his!

He's trying to coerce Hunter to accept being a werewolf and the things that come with it; cut off everyone you know, leave everything behind, Do & accept actions you morally object to— The same Laurence did & had happened to him.

I will say though, Laurence's point about not having to worry about constantly having to try to appear cis as possible to fit into society if Hunter was fully a werewolf, is tempting... it'd be safe, guarded, isolating & without any risk of being hurt.

BUT the logic Laurence uses is similar to what transphobes use; "You're the gender you were born as because a higher power chose that for you." type thing.

Laurence—although didn't intend to at the beginning, has forced Hunter to become something he clearly doesn't want to be. Laurence is perpetuating a toxic cycle of doing what was done to him to another person. He thinks he's helping, it comes from a good place I believe, but it's clouded in resentment & doesnt include choice.

GOD THIS BOOK IS GREAT! I kinda rolled my eyes at the description saying its "thought provoking" because another book was described similarly but didnt necessarily deliver.. This book though, really is! If my ramblings are in the ball park of accuracy, the author wrote a phenomenal thought provoking book!! I'm not even all the way done and I want to continue writing all my thoughts & analysis down😵

Hunter & Mars kissed. Now Gabe & Hunter kissed. What's next? Are Mars & Gabe gonna kiss? Please just be a poly relationship & not a love triangle, I'm TIRED of those💀😑

Lawrence saved the day! I audibly cheered ngl. The massacre on the other hand... is uh.. 😬 yeaah...

Laurence breaks my heart & angers me at the same time. His story is tragic. The werewolf that bit him was killed so he was trapped to live as what he became..

"Laurence's body does not become human again. The only indication that he was ever human in the first place are his eyes."

"I reach for the warmth at the back of my head, only to find a whole lot of nothing."

Gabe is nonbinary? enby? they/them? Hell yeah! So their trio is bi4bi4bi (presumably) & man-enby-woman.

This is the best book I've read so far this year, & probably one of the best books I've ever read period! I think of it as highly as I do 'Song of Achilles' which I personally hold in THE Highest regard.

I can't recommend this book enough! Left me emotional, & provoked my brain to analyze everything & everyone quite a lot.
