YEMI OBIDEYI trained as a sociologist between 1987 and 1991 in Ondo State University, Ado - Ekiti (now Ekiti State), South Western part of Nigeria. For a number of years, he worked with the Daily Times of Nigeria PLC, as a journalist reporting news and events for Business Times, a subsidiary publication of the Daily Times group.
In 1999, he joined Global Bank PLC, a commercial banking institution in Lagos, Nigeria, where he functioned variously as officer and later Head of the banks Corporate Affairs unit. He was saddled with handling the banks reputation management. In mainstream banking, he had a stint in Treasury Operation, Interbank Trading, Account Management and marketing.
Obideyi also worked in plastics manufacturing company as a manager and later director of Logistics.
