Freelancer OS
When was the last time you raised your rate?
Maybe recently, but you probably can't tell me why and what justifies it.
In the words of DJ Khaled "Another one" - How many revision rounds are in your contract?
Email me with the exact (signed) contract to prove me wrong and I'll give this to you for FREE.
Lastly, what happens if a client cancels halfway through?
Been there, done that, cried about it. Don't fool yourself that you have MADE IT from the initial signature.
Most freelancers can't answer those. Not because they're careless, but because nobody ever handed them the part of this job that isn't the work.
Answer these honestly. Nobody's watching.
→ Could you tell me your minimum rate right now — the number below which you'd walk away — or would you have to guess?
→ When a client says "could you just also…", do you have a sentence ready, or do you absorb it and feel it later?
→ What percentage of your income comes from your biggest client? Do you know? Is it over 40%?
→ How many hours did you work last week, and how many did you bill? How wide is that gap?
→ Where do the clients who said "maybe later" currently live? A list with dates on it, or your memory?
→ If someone asked why you charge what you charge, would your answer start with "well, it just felt right"?
If you had a clean answer to all six, you don't need this and I'd rather you kept your $499.
If two or three made you pause — that pause is the thing this fixes.
How much did the last twelve months of winging it cost you? One underpriced project. One invoice that sat unpaid. One scope that quietly doubled.
Whatever that number is, it's more than $499.
