God's Ancient Pathways
Jeremiah 6:16 says this:
Thus says the Lord:
Stand by the roads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way is; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.
But they said "We will not walk in it."
This verse, along with many other passages in the Bible make it clear that God has a pathway for each and every one of us, and that path is good and it gives us peace.
But it also says we have to look and ask. And it says some will refuse to do it. I don't want to be one of the people who refuses God's instructions. So where do we look and what do we ask?
We look in His Word and that will help us to know how to ask things that are in His will for our walk with Him.
His Word shows us His will for us. But if we don't know His Word we can easily get into error, which can impact every aspect of our lives.
Reading the Bible is a great place to start and the Lord will definitely meet you there. However, I found that when I started digging in - seeking and asking - the renewal of my mind, soul and body was transformed in ways it never had been before.

- 1 recap video per week for those who were unable to follow along in the read-only posts due to time constraints
- Weekly live group conference videos (like Zoom) to discuss intepretations, take-aways and applications.
- video conference calls will be recorded for members who can't make the meetings. They are for members ONLY which means they will never be shared outside of the group if the study is ever repurposed as a stand-alone product for purchase.

All of the studies in the Walkers and Hikers tier are thematic topical studies. Starting in May 2025 we will generally follow themes that go along with whatever book of the Bible we're studying in the Explorers tier. There may even be a couple of studies directly from whatever book we're studying in Explorers. This way you can still benefit from whatever we're studying in Explorers. All of the studies in Explorers are books in the Bible studied in it's entirety.

Yes! All tiers get access to that tier's previous videos. You can binge study or just move through the studies at your leisure.

"Overcoming the world." This was a topical study. The Walkers and Hikers received 12 devo-style teachings. The Hikers received 5 additional in-depth studies of the 7 Churches in Revelation 1-3.
"Faith that moves mountains". This is a topical study that we're finishing up in March 2025. The Walkers and Hikers will receive a total of 12 devo-style teachings. The Hikers will receive an additional 6 in-depth studies of Hebrews 11 which is commonly referred to as the "hall of faith."
The Book of James. This was done as a real-time study with each video covering 1 chapter. I recorded 1 video per month over 5 months.

Devo is short of "devotional". These are teaching style videos and are lighter in nature and usually run about 15-20 minutes. We read the passage and then I pull out a couple of nuggets concerning the topical theme we're studying. Because these are lighter studies, I generally don't do word studies or cross references. I will sometimes look at different translations. I always find an application for our lives and then I end in prayer (I end all videos in prayer).

Verse Mapping is a popular form of Bible study where you pick apart a verse in the Bible word by word. There's many different approaches to it. Many people choose a single verse. I rarely do that in my personal studies. I'm usually working in a passage and I pick out a few verses I want to dig into. Verse mapping includes looking up multiple translations, doing word studies, looking for cross references and using observation skills to get to the meat of the verse, or in our case - the passage.
This is a new type of Bible study for Path Finders and I'm excited to pursue this type of study on a regular basis!

The Real Time Study is when I turn the camera on and record myself in real time while I study the Bible. In the past I referred to these as "Bible Highlighting Studies" because highlighting is always the first thing I do in my personal studies. However, I'm re-naming it to more accurately describe this type of video: it's me studying in real time. These videos will be pre-recorded and only edited if it took me a long time to find information. The goal isn't to have an extremely long video for you to sit through, so the purpose of any editing I do is to keep the video a little shorter. That being said, these will still be longer videos being at least 30 minutes long.

The topical studies and book studies will eventually be repurposed into stand-alone topical courses you can buy. However I do not have a time-table for the release of those at this time.

No, but starting in April I will be releasing 1 video a month on my public YouTube channel that ties directly into whatever topical study we're doing that month in Path Finders. However, I reserve the right to release a Path Finders video on my public YouTube channel, and I might occassionally cut out a portion of a Path Finders video to repurpose for a public YouTube video. The monthly topical study I release on YouTube will ususally NOT be a repurposed Path Finders video. That means if you join Path Finders you'll have an additional study to digest through my public YouTube channel!
