13. Awake Void WuWei
Awake, Void, WuWei: The Path to Pure Awakening
Mind cast is to take up; WuWei is to let go. Together, they represent the balance of action and surrender, guiding you toward clarity, purity, and the awakening of your inner Being.
The Miracle of Oneness
Life itself is an amazing miracle: the birth of a being occurs through the union of parents, a process that combines into oneness.
The most amazing miracle, however, is the awakening of your Tao within—the realization of your true essence—which also occurs through the merging of dualities into oneness.
The State of Unawareness
In our daily lives, we are often unaware and confused, leading us away from the path to eternal life. To rediscover this path, we must learn to still our restless minds.
Your mind is like a cup of water:
- If the water is constantly stirred, impurities cannot settle, and the water remains unclear.
- Only when the water is still can it become pure and clear.
Likewise, when the mind is calm and centered, clarity and awareness emerge.
Awakening Yourself
To awaken is to:
- Switch your mind into an enlightening mode.Observe your thoughts and actions.
- Understand your life’s goal and discern the next step to take.
- Step back from your mind.Become an observer of your thoughts and behaviors, navigating life without unnecessary struggle or trouble.
Planting Goodness and Embracing WuWei
Awakening is not only about stillness but also about acting with intention:
- Plant goodness in the WuWei way: This means performing acts of goodness without clinging to the rewards or merits of your actions.
- By practicing selfless goodness, potent Te will naturally flow toward you.
- This Te becomes an intangible resource, a real part of you, that helps counteract negative impurities in your soul.
Simultaneously, focus on emptying yourself. This method helps awaken your inner core Being, allowing you to delve deeper into your essence.
Emptying the Mind: The Path to WuWei
Imagine your mind as a cup of water:
- If the cup is already full, it cannot take in anything more.
- To learn, grow, and remain open to new insights, you must empty yourself.
Emptying yourself involves:
- Clearing your mind of distractions.
- Remaining humble and open-minded, avoiding arrogance or self-opinionated thinking.
- Embracing new perspectives.
Through stillness, you can gradually empty your mind and move toward the ultimate state of WuWei—a void that is not emptiness but pure clarity and awakening.
Meditation and the Challenges of Stillness
In meditation, you may encounter astonishing illusions:
- You might see gods, demons, significant people in your life, beautiful places, or terrifying things.
- These experiences can evoke strong emotions, but it is crucial to remain calm and detached.
How to navigate these experiences:
- Refrain from emotional reactions.Do not engage in talking, judging, analyzing, or even remembering these illusions.
- Be an observer.Let your mind act as a mirror, simply reflecting without attachment.
This practice is essential to avoid potential dangers and distractions. Focus on emptying your mind deeper and deeper, like peeling away the layers of an onion.
The Core of WuWei
As you peel away the layers of your mind’s distractions and impurities, you will reach the core of your Being.
- The core of the onion appears void, but it is not truly nothing.
- Instead, it is a state of pure awakening, where all impurities have been eliminated.
This state is called WuWei:
- It is omnipotent, representing the essence of your immortal soul.
- WuWei is the ultimate state of being—effortless, pure, and in harmony with the universe.
The Temptation of Superpowers
Along the journey of awakening, you may acquire mysterious superpowers. However, these are merely byproducts of the process and not the goal.
- Do not become attached to these powers, as they can lead you astray.
- Remaining detached is key to staying on the correct path.
Awakening is about reaching the void, not accumulating abilities or distractions.
Conclusion: The Balance of Take Up and Let Go
Awakening requires a balance of mind cast (taking up) and WuWei (letting go):
- Take up goodness and clarity through intentional action.
- Let go of attachment, ego, and distractions to return to the pure state of your immortal soul.
Through this process, you will achieve the profound state of the Awake Void WuWei, where dualities dissolve, clarity prevails, and your true nature is fully realized.
