Our stories have one thing in common: women who love, desire and discover other women, across different historical periods.
But we do not tell the same story over and over again.
Each book explores one or more particular themes: desire, intimacy, trust, consent, social conventions, personal discovery, or the acceptance of one's own body.
Our heroines do not necessarily conform to the usual ideals of erotic literature. Some are young, others mature or elderly. They come from different social backgrounds, have different bodies and carry the marks of their individual experiences.
We believe that sensuality, love and pleasure belong to women of every age and appearance. Our characters do not need to fit conventional standards of beauty to be desirable, to desire others or to experience fulfilling relationships.
Our stories are openly erotic, sometimes exploring unusual or unconventional intimate experiences. Yet sexuality is never entirely separate from the characters' personalities, emotions or circumstances.
The historical setting also matters. We are interested in how women might have experienced relationships with other women in societies whose language, customs, expectations and opportunities differed profoundly from those of today.
Our approach is primarily literary and historical rather than activist. We do not seek to turn our heroines into spokespersons for contemporary ideas, or our novels into ideological statements.
We prefer to explore situations, portray human relationships and allow readers to draw their own conclusions.
Above all, we want to tell compelling stories about women who dare to make choices, explore their desires and sometimes challenge the limits of the world in which they live.
