I left the Philippines not to chase dreams, but to rescue my family from a financial crisis. What I didn’t expect was that God would change the plan—He rescued me instead.

I’m a Filipino civil engineer working in Macau, SAR China, for the past 15 years. But my story isn’t just about construction projects or the life of an overseas worker—it's about a life transformed by God’s grace.

Before I knew the Lord personally, I lived under a veil of misconception. Fifteen years ago, life pushed me to make a tough decision. My father, paralyzed and bedridden, required costly treatments, and my family’s financial burden grew by the day. I left the Philippines believing that I could accomplish my clear goal in mind: to support my father’s treatment and relieve the financial burden on my family.

I worked tirelessly to support my father, and unknowingly, I drifted away from God. Surrounded by temptations in a foreign land, I sought comfort in worldly pleasures—drinking, partying, and living as if God didn’t exist. I thought I was in control, but in reality, I was slipping out of control.

After five years of battling illness, my father passed away. I was left broken, questioning everything I had sacrificed and achieved. Despite all my efforts, I felt empty, purposeless, and defeated.

Then came the turning point. I was invited to a church service, and the Word of God pierced my stony heart. Then I realized that my journey to Macau wasn’t just about supporting my father—it was God’s way of drawing me closer to Him.

Philippians 4:13 came alive to me that “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” It wasn’t about achieving my personal goals or fulfilling my plans but about relying on Christ’s strength to endure, grow, and fulfill His purpose.

Through His abundant grace, I found the strength to leave behind my old life and embrace a new one in Christ. Today, as a born-again believer and a member of Bordergate Baptist Church, I am living proof of what God said in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”

If Christ had not nailed my old life to the cross at Calvary, I would never have discovered my true purpose—studying His Word, preaching His truth, and sharing His love with others.

My Passion and Purpose

I write Bible-based daily devotions to edify fellow Christians, encourage those in need, and share the hope I’ve found in Christ. My ultimate purpose is to glorify God and make Him known to the ends of the earth. Any glory in my work belongs to Him alone—our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
