KDP/Amazon terminated my account...

I woke up one morning to a message from a reader asking why she couldn’t find my book on Amazon.

I sent her a different link — my universal one — thinking maybe it was just Amazon being weird. I know I’ve searched for things before and not found them right away.

But a few minutes later, when I opened my dashboard to check my page reads, I was faced with a white screen that said:

“Your account has been closed and access removed.”

I’ve never felt more paralyzed in my life.

It’s every indie author’s worst nightmare — that one message that wipes out years of work in an instant.

Because for some reason, Amazon has the right to do whatever they want.

They can close your account without warning, without explanation, and with it, they take your royalties for the last three months too.

Just like that, I lost all my pre-orders.

All my income.

All access to the books I poured my heart into.

I emailed everyone I could. Most of what came back were automated replies and canned responses, the kind that make you feel invisible.

Finally, another author reached out, someone who’d lived through the same nightmare, and gave me an address where I could reach a real human being.

So now, I wait.

And I hate waiting. Especially with a release coming up.

Amazon holds all the power right now.

I can’t upload my books anywhere else, because just as suddenly as they terminated my account, they could reinstate it — and then I’d be in breach of contract for having my ebooks available on other platforms.

It’s insane.

But I’ve prayed.

And I’m still praying.

And so many of you, readers, friends, fellow authors, are praying with me.

That means more than I can ever say.

Whatever happens next, I know this: God’s not done writing this story.

I’m setting up a direct storefront so that no matter what happens, you’ll still be able to find my books...straight from me.

Thank you for standing with me in this.
