About me

I’m Anne, a watercolour artist based in Wales, where the ever-changing skies, wild hedgerows and quiet beauty of nature constantly inspires me. My watercolour paintings are small, mindful treasures — gentle invitations to pause, take a deep breath and notice the soft details of life that are often so easily missed.

My pieces are always nature-inspired: leaves, petals, flowers, and all the gentle wild things in between. I don’t aim to capture nature perfectly; I try to capture how it feels — the way a petal droops after its strength fades, how a stem bends and cracks with grace, or how a leaf curls like it’s had a long day.

I paint with no plan, and I never sketch anything — just a brush, water, and whatever the moment brings. Sometimes the paint blooms beautifully. Sometimes it makes a mess. And honestly, that feels like a pretty accurate reflection of life.

The roots of my work…

I believe there is beauty in the broken bits, and I often embrace this in my paintings — torn petals, curled edges, ripped leaves, bent and broken stems — because just like people, it’s in the so-called imperfections that real strength is found.

This isn’t just about pretty art for your walls — it’s about offering you little anchors of peace for your space. Art that reminds you to pause, take a deep breath, soften your shoulders, embrace your imperfections, and reconnect with the present moment.

So whether you’re here to browse, breathe, or just sit with my art for a moment — I’m really, really glad you came.

“Inspired by nature, created in stillness”

Thanks to Tessa…

Tessa, my gentle tortoise and beloved studio companion, deserves her own little moment here.

With her calm presence and unhurried pace, she reminds me daily of what matters most — to slow down, stay curious, and meet the world gently. She oversees all botanical matters with quiet confidence, always nearby as I paint the petals, leaves, and little wild things we both adore.

There’s something sacred about seeing life through her eyes — steady, rooted, and beautifully slow. It’s a rhythm I try to honour in everything I create.

So this is a quiet thank you, to the one who teaches me, without saying a word, how to breathe a little deeper and paint with presence.
