I never imagined I'd be writing a book about somebody who once meant so much to me.
I damn sure never imagined I'd be sharing that story with strangers.
But here I am.
When I started writing Turned My Pain Into Pages: He Got Free. I Got Ghosted., I wasn't thinking about becoming a writer. I was trying to make sense of how somebody could go from being such a big part of my everyday life to barely being there at all.
And that shit hurt.
Not just because things changed, but because I genuinely believed in what we had.
I replayed conversations. I questioned things. I wondered how something that felt so real could end up leaving me feeling like I imagined the whole damn connection.
And the hardest part? I still cared.
People will tell you to move on like you can just turn your feelings off. But when you've invested your time, your emotions, and your heart into somebody, it doesn't work like that.
Some days you're okay. Other days, something reminds you of them, and those feelings come right back.
I'm not going to pretend writing this book healed me overnight. It didn't. There are still moments when I feel that hurt.
But I refused to let what happened be the only thing that came out of it.
So I wrote.
And somewhere between the tears, the memories, and the questions I may never get answers to, I created something I'm proud of.
If you've ever loved somebody so deeply that you didn't know how you'd recover when things fell apart, this story is for you.
You don't have to have it all together. You don't have to pretend you're over somebody when you're not.
And you damn sure don't have to let somebody else's choices determine how your story ends.
He got free. I got ghosted. But I found my voice in the middle of it all.
