I can't believe it, but we actually got the auto feeder up!! Still have a few tests to do and some stream-side stuff to iron out, but the feeder itself is now officially functional xD And I took progress pictures for once in my life hahaha
We've already got the tray for the treats up, which is the red hexagon tray in the previous blog. But, we needed a platform for the feeder itself to sit on. So, I used some scraps from the run and put together this simple little platform!
We then attached a funnel using little brackets, bolts, and screws.
We held it up, got it all measured out, and discovered we needed to attach a pvc pipe to the funnel so that the treats wouldn't spray everywhere xD
Once it was cut down, we attached the pvc to the funnel via a bolt! Their treats are small enough that the bolt doesn't get in their way at all.
The only thing left was to get it up and plug it in!
Plugging it in actually turned out to be the tricky part xD The cord wasn't quite long enough for what I needed so I had to do some interesting maneuvers xD Got it done though!
And lastly lastly, we added a cover to keep it protected from the elements, and a board to zip-tie it to, to keep it from falling off the shelf! ^.^
