I just want to rant because I saw a post on TikTok about this.
It’s sad that some people so easily accuse authors of using generative AI to write their books. It ruins their reputation. If you don’t have an actual proof, then either enjoy the story or just DNF it—it’s that simple.
I hope my blog post reaches those exact people who use em dash as their basis, because I want to hold your hand when I tell you this: other punctuation exists, not just periods and commas. Okay? We authors are not gatekeeping it, you can literally search punctuation marks on Google along with their uses. 😅
And for those well written books, some authors (like me) often search for synonyms of simple words just to make things look “smart enough,” or simply for our own satisfaction. Others are just really good. (and honestly, I envy them 😭)
