born from my deep love

for my dog Bob,

who passed away several years ago,

but is still present

in my memory.

I wrote this book

and created this space

for you

who are going through

the loss of your animal.

To write this book,

I had to go back into my emotions

to offer you,

as faithfully as possible,

words,

a presence,

a hand,

so that you may feel less alone.

Every word,

every sentence,

every paragraph,

every page

was written

with all the tears I had in me.

This book does not explain grief.

It does not try

to find a solution to your pain.

It simply walks with you.

Writing this book

helped me,

first of all.

I understood that

this bond was unbreakable.

That this love

was still there,

just in a different way

now.

We never forget.

We only learn

to live differently.
