Hi, I’m Kurtavius — the baker behind Bread by Kurtavius. My path to sourdough wasn’t exactly straightforward: I started out studying computer science, worked as a manager at a Philly Pretzel Factory, later moved into product management and financial advising, and then one day, everything changed.
While traveling in Paris, I fell in love with the beauty of slow, intentional food — especially bread. That trip inspired me to enroll in culinary school at RCBC in Mount Holly, NJ, and I haven’t looked back since.
Now I share my passion for naturally leavened breads at local farmers markets and through my small-batch sourdough creations. This shop is a way for me to bring that joy to even more people — whether you’re just getting started on your sourdough journey, or looking for gear, merch, or a tried-and-true starter to help you bake your best loaf yet.
