Eva-Lyn Blanket - FREE pattern

Growing up, I had a very close relationship with my late grandmother and mum. When I was 10, my grandma taught me to crochet the granny square. She was patient and kept encouraging me until I got the hang of it. Every weekend, this became our time together and created a strong bond between us. As the only granddaughter who took an interest in crochet, she was ecstatic.

My mum taught me to knit when I was around 14, and even though i never really took up this craft, I do know how to do basic garter and knit stitch.

Learning from these two amazing woman helps to create bonds and also too self esteem. The encouragement I received has influenced a lot of designs.

The Eva-Lyn blanket is dedicated to my late grandma and mum for their encouragement and influence in my crochet journey over the last 28 years.

This pattern is beginner friendly and can be made any size you like. It is also perfect as a scrap busting project. Some of my testers have done this and they do look amazing!

The following table is for 8ply/Dk/#3 weight yarn. If you are using a different weight yarn, please make a gauge swatch, measure how many stitches in 4", then divide by 4, multiply this number by how wide you want the blanket; for example you get 5 stitches to an inch, multiply by 50" = 250. Make sure your final number is a multiple of 3, if not round up or down. The example needs to be 249 to be a multiple of 3.
