SIMONE MORANA CYLA
Simone Morana, known professionally as Cyla (Cremona, 26 August 1978), is an Italian digital artist, writer, poet, musician, composer, music producer and VJ. He began his artistic career in 1996 as a musician and singer-songwriter, composing more than 50 original songs between 1996 and 2005, collected in four self-produced albums. In 2001, he placed third in the national selections for the Festival di Sanremo Giovani.
He subsequently released the album Shadows of Me (2008) and the single Rays of Sunshine (2011).
From 2012, he began collaborating as a designer with Society6 and devoted himself to digital art, developing a style based on digital painting and photographic manipulation. His works have been published on numerous international websites, blogs and platforms dedicated to contemporary art.
In 2015, he exhibited his work for the first time in galleries and group exhibitions in several Italian cities, including Florence, Brescia, Parma, Mantua and Milan. In 2016, he took part in his first international group exhibition in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, organized by Gran Canaria Art Gallery and presented by master José Van Roy Dalí. That same year, he published his fifth art catalogue, distributed through more than sixty online stores.
He has also collaborated with CharityStars, auctioning several of his artworks and donating part of the proceeds to charitable initiatives. Throughout his career, he has created more than 1,200 digital artworks, published in twelve books distributed internationally. Since 2015, he has been present on Artfinder as a digital artist.
Between 2022 and 2023, he reached first place in the poetry category on Wattpad six consecutive times. On 20 November 2023, he exclusively published the poetry collection Poesie on Amazon, bringing together poems written between 2010 and 2022. In 2024, he published Poesie 2, the novel Killer Lady, and Antologia Poetica, the latter available in both Italian and English.
In 2025, he founded Cyla World, an independent music label and multidisciplinary creative project. Within this project, he created 18 original artistic projects, each with its own visual identity, logos, characters and dedicated fictional universe. For each project, he oversees the creation of musical, artistic and literary works, taking responsibility for songwriting, composition, music production, creative direction and visual identity. He is the author of more than 500 original songs, predominantly in English and Japanese, distributed across more than 60 international music stores and platforms, as well as an extensive catalogue of digital and painted artworks.
AI OR NOT AI?
Many people ask how much of Cyla World is made by me and how much involves AI.
I want to be completely transparent
with my community.
The characters of Cyla World come from my own novels and stories. The world, lore, concepts, poems, lyrics, and creative vision are entirely my creation.
Most of the songs you hear today originally started as poems that I wrote and published in five books before transforming them into music.
On the musical side, I personally compose the melodies, vocal lines, harmonies, arrangements,
and the sung parts of each song.
The artistic and musical direction is created by me. AI is then used to perform those ideas, providing male or female voices depending on the character, band, or project I am working on.
I also use AI tools for certain parts of the production process and for creating visual artwork, but these outputs are guided, selected, edited, and refined by me.
If I had to describe the project, I would say it is approximately 70% human creativity
and 30% AI-assisted production.
Cyla World would not exist without my imagination, writing, characters, stories, poetry, and music. AI helps me bring that vision to life in ways that would otherwise require an entire team of singers, musicians, and artists.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
