Have you ever felt like something is just not right? There’s an uneasiness that just can’t be shaken. On the outside, everything looks normal but something’s just ain’t right. I believe that is inclination to pray. There’s a Scripture that says “we know not what to pray for” that can attest to this. I believe God uses His Word and my natural intuition to tell me (and you) that we need to have a meeting in the ladies’ room. (Yes, I borrowed that from Climaxx.)
When this happens, I know that there is something God wants me to know and do. Do I ignore it sometimes? Absolutely! Is it normal to ignore “the voice” sometimes? Yes. Does He give an opportunity to get back on track? Thank you, Jesus. YES! There are times when I can’t ignore it because my spirit yearns and moans for that that my physical nature can’t express.
There’s a deeper longing that goes beyond the “bless us four and no more” prayers. I can’t see it or touch it but I know it’s there. God has been speaking to me for quite a while about going deeper. I have been in a place where I have not been motivated to go deeper even though I know that outcome will bring joy and peace.
Complacency stares me in the face. I sometime question my position in God and His love for me. I must say that I have not been in constant fellowship with God as I should. I know that communication with Him is vital to my spiritual health. When that health is not maintained, it is a matter of time that other inner issues begin to manifest itself outwardly. However, through the Word, prayer, counsel AND positive affirmation, it can be sustained.
My truth here is that in my knowing better, I haven’t always done better. It disturbs me. It tells me that I am a frail human in need of the Savior. In my own strength, I am weak. Ironically, when I admit my weakness, my journey of healing, renewed faith and strength begins. God takes foolish things to confound the wise. I need my Savior and the awesome thing is He’s never left me. Some way, some how, he woos me back to him and for that I say, Thank you, Christ Jesus!
Note from the author: If you don’t know who the Savior is, He is very real and desires a deeper relationship with you as well. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Believe that God raised Him from the dead so that you may have everlasting life. Those are the two of the most important steps that you will ever take but you’re not done. Talk to Him daily and read scripture. You’ll be glad you did.
Peace and Blessings
