Aloha Friend,
As the air turns crisp and pumpkins start smiling on front porches, I can’t help but smile too. There’s something about this time of year that feels a little magical, isn’t there? The cozy sweaters (Yep, today was totally a sweater-weather kind of day, and I wore my new full-length sweater), the scent of cinnamon in the air (yummy cinnamon buns my honey taught our daughter-in-law to make)... it’s all part of the season’s charm.
Halloween has always been one of those holidays that sneaks up on us with a wink and a bit of fun. Behind the costumes and candy, though, there’s a beautiful reminder... connection. Neighbors greeting each other at the door, friends sharing warm drinks after an evening walk, parents reminiscing about their own trick-or-treat days... It’s all about moments shared.
And that’s really what Cards & Coffee is about... those little moments of connection that brighten someone’s day. A handwritten card has the same magic as a jack-o-lantern’s glow... it warms the heart and reminds us we’re not alone in the dark.
So maybe this week, as you sip your pumpkin spice latte (or your favorite brew), think of someone who could use a little light in their mailbox. Maybe it’s a friend who’s had a rough season, a co-worker who’s always smiling for others, or even a neighbor whose porch you’ve admired from afar.
Send them a card that says, “You were on my mind.” No tricks, just a treat of kindness that lasts long after Halloween night fades away.
Wishing you a cozy cup, a kind heart, and maybe a bit of chocolate too.
With warmth and gratitude,
Marie-anne
