Jarkeshia McGahee
Jarkeshia is a mental health and resilience speaker who has walked through some of life’s
toughest battles and come out stronger. She knows firsthand what it means to feel lost, broken,
and overwhelmed—but also what it takes to rebuild.
Her journey has been a rollercoaster of loss, health struggles, and unexpected hardships.
From dealing with multiple sclerosis to battling depression and anxiety, life has tested her
resilience. She lost her father to suicide, her grandfather the week before finals, and most
recently, her husband on August 4, 2024. These devastating moments reshaped her
perspective on life, mental health, and the importance of truly checking in on people before it’s
too late.
Jarkeshia has also faced deep struggles with self-esteem, weight issues, and financial
instability. She has endured the stress of near-evictions, financial setbacks, and the emotional
toll of stolen insurance, all while striving to maintain stability. There were times when she battled
suicidal ideation, yet through it all, faith, perseverance, and support have been her anchors.
Now, she uses her story to empower others to navigate hard times, strengthen their mental
well-being, and find purpose in their pain. She speaks to churches, schools, women’s
organizations, and mental health events, equipping people with tools to recognize the silent
battles others face and how a simple check-in can make all the difference.
Her message is simple: You are not alone, and your struggles do not define you. Through
her keynotes and workshops, Jarkeshia teaches how to turn adversity into strength, faith into
action, and check on your people—because you never know who needs it most.
