BASK IN HIS POWER
Don’t Lose Your Wonder - August 28, 2026
Sometimes we read a Scripture so many times that we stop being amazed by it.
We’ve heard the story.
We know the ending.
We can quote the verse.
We know what happens next.
And somehow, familiarity can quietly rob us of wonder.
But God is still supernatural.
The God who performed miracles in Scripture has not become less powerful because we have become more familiar with the stories.
Perhaps we simply need to slow down long enough to remember who He is.
STOP AND BASK
This livestream began with a simple invitation:
Bask in the power of God.
Not rush.
Not perform.
Not try to figure everything out.
Just stop.
Be still.
And remember.
Remember the miracles.
Remember the testimonies.
Remember the impossible things God has done.
Remember that the God we read about in Scripture is not merely a historical figure.
He is alive.
And He is still God.
DON’T BECOME TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE MIRACULOUS
There is something dangerous about becoming so accustomed to Scripture that we forget its supernatural nature.
The Red Sea was not ordinary.
Manna was not ordinary.
A virgin birth was not ordinary.
A resurrection was not ordinary.
A dead man’s bones coming back to life was not ordinary.
Aaron’s rod budding was not ordinary.
These were demonstrations of a God who operates beyond human limitations.
Numbers 17 tells us about Aaron’s rod that budded—a dead piece of wood that suddenly produced life.
It wasn’t merely an interesting object lesson.
It was a sign.
God was demonstrating His choice and His authority.
A dead rod blossomed.
That’s supernatural.
And if we aren’t careful, we can read something like that and simply turn the page.
But what if we stopped?
What if we allowed ourselves to actually wonder?
GOD IS STILL THE GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE
The miracles of Scripture remind us that God is not confined to what human beings consider possible.
We don’t have to understand how God will do something in order to believe that He can.
That’s where Proverbs 3:5–6 becomes so important:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding…”
Faith doesn’t require us to have every explanation.
Sometimes faith simply says:
“God, I trust You.”
WHEN A TESTIMONY BECOMES AN INVITATION
During the livestream, I talked about testimony from a Kingdom perspective.
A testimony isn’t simply:
“Look what God did for me.”
It can become an invitation to believe that God is still able.
When we hear what God has done, our faith can rise.
Not because we are demanding that God duplicate someone else’s experience.
But because testimony reminds us of His character.
He is faithful.
He is powerful.
He is compassionate.
He is able.
And when God has done something impossible before, it reminds us that impossibility does not intimidate Him.
THE SOUTH PACIFIC TESTIMONY
One of the more unusual moments from this livestream came from a previous broadcast.
I had been speaking about the South Pacific as an example during a livestream.
At the time, I didn’t realize the significance of the regions I was mentioning.
Later, I discovered information about serious health crises affecting areas within those regions.
That moment caused me to stop and pay attention.
Rather than simply dismissing it as coincidence, I began asking:
“Lord, are You calling me to pray?”
And that became the response.
Intercession.
Not speculation.
Not fear.
Prayer.
Sometimes God will bring something across our path that we don’t immediately understand.
The appropriate response isn’t always to explain it.
Sometimes it’s simply to bring it before Him.
INTERCESSION IS A RESPONSE
This is where 2 Chronicles 7:14 became central:
“If My people, who are called by My name, humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways…”
Notice the posture.
Humility.
Prayer.
Seeking God’s face.
Repentance.
This isn’t simply a formula for changing circumstances.
It begins with changing posture.
Seek His face.
That’s different from merely seeking His hand.
We don’t come to God only because we need something fixed.
We come because we want Him.
WE ARE HERE TO MANIFEST THE KINGDOM
Another major theme of the livestream was the believer’s purpose in the earth.
We are here to represent Christ.
To demonstrate His nature.
To carry His Word.
To walk in His ways.
To love.
To serve.
To pray.
To intercede.
To become imitators of God.
That doesn’t mean we become God.
It means our lives should increasingly reflect the One we belong to.
When people encounter us, they should have an opportunity to encounter something of His character.
ALL THINGS BELONG TO YOU
First Corinthians 3:21–23 gives another powerful perspective:
“For all things are yours…”
But the passage immediately brings the believer back into proper perspective.
We belong to Christ.
And Christ belongs to God.
So the inheritance isn’t about human ownership or entitlement.
It’s about belonging.
Everything begins with relationship.
When we know whose we are, we begin to understand what has been entrusted to us.
COMMIT YOUR WAY TO HIM
Psalm 37:5–7 says:
“Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him…”
And then comes a word that can be difficult in a world that constantly demands action:
Be still.
There are times when faith looks like moving.
And there are times when faith looks like waiting.
Stillness isn’t inactivity when you’re waiting on God.
Stillness can be trust.
It says:
“I don’t have to force this.”
“I don’t have to manipulate the outcome.”
“I can trust God with what I cannot control.”
I DIE DAILY
First Corinthians 15:31 gives us Paul’s declaration:
“I die daily.”
We’ve encountered this theme repeatedly in these livestreams.
Surrender.
Death to self.
Yielding.
Obedience.
And it keeps coming back because it is foundational.
The more we surrender ourselves to God, the more room there is for His life to be expressed through us.
Dying daily doesn’t mean becoming less alive.
It means becoming less controlled by the old nature and increasingly yielded to Christ.
CAST YOUR CARES
Then comes one of my favorite invitations:
Cast your cares upon Him.
First Peter 5:6–7 tells us to humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand and cast our cares upon Him because He cares for us.
Think about that.
The God of supernatural power is also the God who cares about our burdens.
He doesn’t simply demonstrate power.
He carries people.
He doesn’t just perform miracles.
He invites us to trust Him.
He is powerful enough to handle the impossible and compassionate enough to handle our cares.
DON’T MISS THE MIRACLE BECAUSE YOU’RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING BIGGER
Perhaps this is the real warning.
Don’t become so familiar with God that you stop noticing Him.
Don’t become so accustomed to Scripture that you stop marveling.
Don’t become so focused on the next miracle that you fail to recognize the one happening right now.
Sometimes the miracle is dramatic.
Sometimes it is quiet.
Sometimes it is healing.
Sometimes it is provision.
Sometimes it is protection.
Sometimes it is simply the grace to keep standing.
Sometimes it is the revelation that comes at exactly the right moment.
Sometimes it is a seemingly ordinary conversation that suddenly becomes an assignment to pray.
Pay attention.
BASK IN HIS POWER
We don’t have to manufacture supernatural experiences.
We don’t have to chase signs.
We don’t have to make every unusual occurrence mean something.
We can simply remain close to Jesus.
Read His Word.
Believe His Word.
Pray.
Intercede.
Listen.
Obey.
And when God does something only God could do—
stop long enough to marvel.
Bask in His power.
Bask in His presence.
Bask in His goodness.
Bask in His holiness.
Bask in His love.
Because the God who caused a rod to bud is still God.
The God who parted waters is still God.
The God who raised Jesus from the dead is still God.
And the God who has carried us this far is still carrying us.
So don’t lose your wonder.
Don’t let familiarity make the miraculous ordinary.
Don’t lean so heavily on your own understanding that you miss what God is revealing.
Trust Him.
Commit your way to Him.
Be still.
Cast your cares upon Him.
Die daily.
Pray.
Intercede.
And when He reveals Himself—
stop and bask.
HE IS STILL GOD.
HE IS STILL POWERFUL.
HE IS STILL FAITHFUL.
AND THERE IS STILL MORE TO SEE.
