The Bus, the Number 87, and a New Season - July 24, 2026
There was another detail about the bus dream that caught my attention: the bus number was 87.
At the time, we were approaching 5787 on the Hebrew calendar, the new year beginning at Rosh Hashanah. I am not Jewish, yet this year I found myself intentionally observing Rosh Hashanah and seeking the Lord during that appointed time.
So when I remembered that the bus in the dream carried the number 87, I paid attention.
I am careful not to build doctrine around numbers or assign them meanings Scripture does not give them. But I do believe we should bring the details that capture our attention before the Lord and ask Him for understanding.
For me, the greater message remained beautifully simple:
Do not miss what God is doing in this season.
The bus represented movement. It had a destination. It required readiness. And you could not remain standing where you were if you intended to travel with it.
That brought the teaching back to the same question:
Am I ready to move when God says move?
Hebrews tells us:
“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”
— Hebrews 12:1 KJV
Perhaps the most important thing is not deciphering every detail.
Perhaps it is making sure that when God gives the instruction, we are positioned to obey.
So I wrote the number down.
I documented the timing.
I brought it before the Lord.
And I kept moving.
Stay awake. Stay yielded. Stay ready.
When God says go—GO.
