HERE I AM
Surrendering to the God Who Calls - September 9, 2026
There are some things God can ask of you that require more than agreement.
They require surrender.
Not just surrendering your plans.
Not just surrendering your preferences.
Not just surrendering what you want.
But surrendering your life.
Your heart.
Your strength.
Your future.
Your yes.
As the days leading toward 5787 continued, the message became increasingly personal.
I had already been challenged to settle what I believed.
I had been reminded to learn the way of the Kingdom.
I had been called to be instant—to be ready when God speaks.
I had been confronted with the kind of fasting that requires more than abstaining from food.
And now came another question:
Will I surrender?
Surrender Is Not Weakness
Surrender can sound like giving up.
But Kingdom surrender is not giving up.
It is giving over.
Giving my life over to Jesus.
Giving my will over to His.
Giving my strength over to His strength.
Giving my plans over to His purposes.
There is a point where I have to stop trying to make God fit into my plans and allow Him to make my life available for His.
That is where true Kingdom service begins.
Moses Had Questions Too
During this livestream, I spent significant time studying the life and calling of Moses in Exodus 3 and 4.
And Moses’ story felt very human.
God called him.
Moses responded with questions.
He had objections.
He questioned his own ability.
He questioned whether people would listen.
He questioned what he would say.
He even pointed to his own limitations.
But something stood out to me:
God did not answer Moses by telling him how wonderful Moses was.
God answered by revealing who God was.
“I will be with thee.”
That changes everything.
Because the assignment does not depend entirely upon the vessel.
It depends upon the God who sends the vessel.
What If I Don’t Feel Ready?
Moses wasn’t the first person to feel inadequate when God called him.
And he won’t be the last.
Sometimes we assume that if God has truly called us, we will immediately feel confident.
But Scripture gives us another picture.
There can be a real assignment accompanied by very real questions.
The question isn’t whether I have questions.
The question is:
Will I allow my questions to become an excuse for disobedience?
God knows my limitations better than I do.
He knew Moses’ limitations.
And He still called him.
“I Will Be With You”
This is one of the most comforting things about God’s call.
He doesn’t simply give an assignment and send us away to figure it out alone.
He goes with us.
Psalm 121 became part of the message as a reminder that my help comes from the Lord.
He is my keeper.
He does not slumber.
He does not fall asleep on the assignment.
He does not lose sight of me.
When I am uncertain, He remains certain.
When I am weak, He remains strong.
When I don’t know what is next, He already does.
So perhaps the better question isn’t:
“Am I capable?”
Perhaps it is:
“Is He with me?”
And if He is—
I can go.
The Family of the Kingdom
Matthew 12:50 also brought another dimension to the conversation:
“For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Jesus defines Kingdom family around obedience to the Father’s will.
That makes surrender practical.
It isn’t merely an emotional moment at an altar.
It becomes a lifestyle.
I surrender today.
Then tomorrow, I surrender again.
I obey this instruction.
Then I remain available for the next one.
The Christian life becomes an ongoing exchange:
My will for His will.
My way for His way.
My life for His purposes.
Stewardship of the Life We’ve Been Given
That led me into the subject of stewardship.
What am I doing with what God has placed in my hands?
My time.
My gifts.
My voice.
My relationships.
My resources.
My opportunities.
My influence.
My life.
Salvation is not simply a moment when I say I believe and then return to living entirely for myself.
Jesus calls me into a new life.
A life that belongs to Him.
A life that bears fruit.
A life that serves His purposes.
That means I have to continually ask:
“Lord, what do You want to do with what You have entrusted to me?”
Coming Into the Light
John 3:16–21 became another important part of the teaching.
God’s love sent Jesus.
Jesus came into the world not to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved.
And then Scripture speaks about coming into the light.
That challenged me because surrender brings things into the light.
Hidden motives.
Fear.
Pride.
Self-reliance.
Things I would rather keep tucked away.
But if I am going to walk closely with Jesus, I cannot build my life around hiding.
I have to come into the light.
I have to practice truth.
I have to let Him deal with me.
The Exchange
Romans 6:23 reminds us of the contrast between the wages of sin and the gift of God.
First Peter 3:18 reminds us that Christ suffered once for sins to bring us to God.
And John 14:6 leaves no ambiguity about the destination:
Jesus is the way.
Not merely a way.
The way.
The truth.
The life.
That means surrender isn’t surrendering to an abstract spiritual idea.
I am surrendering to a Person.
Jesus.
Don’t Be Double-Minded
James 1:5–8 brought another necessary warning:
Ask God for wisdom—but don’t ask while remaining double-minded.
That word is especially important in a season of surrender.
I cannot continually say:
“Lord, Your will be done…”
while secretly insisting:
“…as long as it agrees with mine.”
At some point, surrender has to become real.
I have to trust God enough to obey Him even when I don’t have the whole explanation.
The God of Divine Timing
During the livestream, I also shared personal experiences involving timing, circumstances, and what I perceived as divine orchestration.
Those moments encourage me because they remind me that God is not careless with our lives.
At the same time, I want to keep my eyes on Him rather than becoming consumed with the signs themselves.
The experience may encourage me.
The timing may catch my attention.
The confirmation may strengthen my faith.
But Jesus remains the center.
He is the One I trust.
Total Redemption
Isaiah 53:5 also became part of the message.
The suffering of Christ speaks to me of redemption, healing, restoration, and the tremendous price Jesus paid to bring us back to God.
This is why surrender isn’t punishment.
I surrender to the One who first gave Himself for me.
He surrendered His life.
How can I refuse to surrender mine?
“Here I Am”
I think that is where this livestream ultimately brought me.
Back to a simple posture.
Here I am.
Not:
“Here I am, and I have everything figured out.”
Not:
“Here I am, and I am completely confident.”
Not:
“Here I am, and I know exactly where this is going.”
Just:
Here I am.
Available.
Listening.
Surrendered.
Ready to learn.
Ready to obey.
Ready to go where He sends me.
The Road to 5787
Looking back at these livestreams together, the progression continues to become clearer.
Settle It!
Establish.
The Way of the Kingdom
Align.
Be Instant!
Respond.
The Fast That I Have Chosen
Surrender.
And now:
Here I Am.
Become available.
Perhaps that is what God was doing in me during those days leading toward 5787.
Not simply giving me information.
Not simply giving me things to talk about.
But bringing me into a deeper posture of availability.
Because revelation eventually demands a response.
And obedience eventually requires surrender.
So I am learning not to ask only:
“Lord, what are You saying?”
But also:
“Lord, what do You want from me?”
And when He answers, may my response be simple:
Here I am.

The Fast That I Have Chosen — SURRENDER
Remove what competes with obedience.
Here I Am — AVAILABILITY
Place your life in the hands of the One who calls.
The road toward 5787 was continuing to unfold.
And I was beginning to realize:
God wasn’t just preparing me for a new season.
He was preparing me to say yes to whatever the new season would require.
