I WILL NOT STOP
Keep Your Hand to the Plow July 20, 2026
There comes a point in your walk with God when you have to settle something within yourself:
I will not stop.
Not because the road is easy.
Not because there will never be opposition.
Not because everything will always work according to plan.
But because when God has called you, your commitment cannot be determined by your circumstances.
During this livestream, that truth became one of the central messages of the evening. There had been interruptions. There had been technological difficulties. There had been moments I interpreted as spiritual resistance against the work God had given me to do.
But my response remained the same:
I will not stop.
KEEP YOUR HAND TO THE PLOW
Jesus said:
“No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
— Luke 9:62
That is a strong statement.
When God calls us forward, we cannot continually look backward toward what He has called us out of.
The plow requires attention.
It requires direction.
It requires perseverance.
If you keep looking behind you while attempting to move forward, eventually you will drift away from the path in front of you.
Some believers are waiting for everything to become comfortable before they fully obey God. But obedience does not always come with comfortable conditions.
Sometimes obedience means continuing while you are tired.
Sometimes it means continuing when people do not understand.
Sometimes it means continuing when there are distractions all around you.
And sometimes it simply means showing up again.
Keep your hand to the plow.
WALK WORTHY OF THE CALL
Paul writes:
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.”
— Ephesians 4:1
Calling carries responsibility.
It is not merely about what we are gifted to do. It is also about who we are becoming while we do it.
Our character matters.
Our integrity matters.
Our obedience matters.
Our private lives matter.
Our treatment of people matters.
Our willingness to be corrected by the Word of God matters.
Spiritual maturity requires us to move beyond simply knowing that we have gifts. We must learn how to steward those gifts in a way that honors the One who gave them.
There comes a season when God calls us out of spiritual sleepiness and into responsibility.
Wake up.
Get in position.
Use what God gave you.
Do what He told you to do.
AS HE IS, SO ARE WE
First John 4:17 gives believers an extraordinary reminder:
“…because as he is, so are we in this world.”
We are representatives of Jesus Christ in this world.
That should change how we live.
We do not have to shrink back from proclaiming the Gospel. We do not have to be ashamed of Jesus. We do not have to dilute the truth in order to make Christianity more comfortable for the culture around us.
Our confidence is not supposed to come from ourselves.
Our confidence comes from Christ.
We can stand boldly because we belong to Him.
YOUR TESTIMONY MATTERS
Revelation 19:10 says:
“…for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Never underestimate what God can do through your testimony.
Your testimony is not merely the story of something that happened to you.
It points back to what Jesus has done.
When you tell someone how God delivered you, restored you, corrected you, protected you, taught you, or transformed you, your story becomes evidence of His faithfulness.
Someone else may hear your testimony and realize:
If Jesus met her there, perhaps He can meet me here.
Tell what He has done.
Give Jesus the glory.
Your testimony may become the doorway through which someone else begins believing again.
LET THE WORD DO THE CUTTING
Hebrews 4:12 teaches us:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword…”
The Word of God does not need our help becoming powerful.
It already is.
It penetrates.
It exposes.
It discerns.
It reaches places human reasoning cannot reach.
That means our responsibility is not to manipulate people into transformation. Our responsibility is to faithfully proclaim the truth and allow the Holy Spirit to work through the Word.
The Word can reveal what is hidden in our hearts.
The Word can confront compromise.
The Word can expose deception.
The Word can call us back into alignment.
And sometimes the first person who needs to submit to the Word being preached is the person preaching it.
None of us graduate from needing the Word of God.
MAKE A CLEAN BREAK
Acts 19 gives us a striking picture of what happened when the Gospel confronted practices that were incompatible with following Christ.
People believed.
They confessed.
And they made tangible changes.
Those who had practiced magic brought their materials together and publicly burned them.
They did not simply add Jesus to everything they had already been practicing.
They made a break.
And then Scripture records something powerful:
The Word of the Lord continued to grow and prevail.
That is the picture I want us to remember.
When truth enters, mixture has to go.
When Jesus becomes Lord, He is not merely another addition to our spiritual lives.
He becomes the center.
There may be things God begins exposing in our lives that cannot accompany us into the next season.
Practices.
Relationships.
Mindsets.
Habits.
Beliefs.
Compromises.
When the Holy Spirit identifies something that needs to go, do not negotiate with what God is telling you to release.
Make the clean break.
DECIDE AND DECREE
Job 22:28 says:
“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee…”
Our words matter, but biblical declaration is not a substitute for submission to God.
We do not decree independently of Him.
We align ourselves with His truth, His purposes, and His Word.
So there are some decisions we need to settle before the battle ever arrives.
I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to obey His Word.
I have decided to remain faithful to my assignment.
I have decided that opposition will not determine my obedience.
And yes:
I have decided that I will not stop.
BILLIONS FOR CHRIST
This steadfastness is connected to something much bigger than ourselves.
There are people all over this world who need Jesus.
Nations.
Families.
Communities.
Generations.
People from every background, language, culture, and walk of life.
That is why we pray.
That is why we intercede.
That is why we preach the Gospel.
That is why we keep showing up.
My prayer continues to be for billions of souls to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Not so a ministry can become famous.
Not so a name can become great.
But so Jesus Christ will be glorified.
We have been entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Christ, carrying the message that through Jesus, sinners can be reconciled to God.
The harvest is bigger than any one person.
The assignment is bigger than inconvenience.
And the Gospel is too precious for us to quit because the road becomes difficult.
THE WORD WILL PREVAIL
Acts 19 gives us the ending:
The Word prevailed.
Not darkness.
Not deception.
Not sorcery.
Not opposition.
The Word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
That is where I am planting my feet.
I do not know every obstacle that may come.
I do not know every battle that may have to be fought.
I do not know every way God will choose to use this ministry.
But I know the One who called me.
And I know what He told me to do.
So I will pray.
I will intercede.
I will preach and teach truth and reconciliation to the nations through the Spirit of Revelation.
I will keep my hand to the plow.
I will keep pointing people to Jesus.
And by the grace of God—
I WILL NOT STOP.
The Word of the Lord will prevail.
A WORD FOR YOU
What has God called you to do?
Maybe you started with fire but became weary along the way.
Maybe distractions pulled your attention away from the assignment.
Maybe resistance made you question whether you heard God correctly.
Return to the place of obedience.
Put your hand back on the plow.
Fix your eyes on Jesus.
Open the Word.
Ask the Holy Spirit to expose anything that has become mixed into your walk with God.
Then take the next step He gives you.
You do not have to know the entire journey.
You simply have to remain faithful to the One leading you.
Do not stop.
There are people on the other side of your obedience.
There is Kingdom work still to be done.
And the same God who called you is able to strengthen you to finish what He has placed in your hands.
Keep going. Keep believing. Keep obeying.
Jesus Christ is worthy.
