It Started With “Yes”
The First Livestream — May 1, 2026
I didn’t begin because I had everything figured out.
I didn’t begin because I knew what this would become.
I didn’t begin because I felt completely comfortable.
I began because God asked me to show up.
And eventually, I said yes.
Looking back now, that may be the most important part of this first livestream.
Before there were recurring messages.
Before there was an archive.
Before Monday, Wednesday, and Friday became a rhythm.
Before I could see themes developing from one livestream to another.
There was simply an invitation from God—
and an opportunity to obey.
It started with yes.
Obedience Before Understanding
Sometimes we want God to explain everything before we move.
Where is this going?
How will it work?
Who will listen?
What happens next?
Am I ready?
But obedience doesn’t always come with a complete itinerary.
Sometimes God gives enough light for one step.
And the next step doesn’t become visible until we take the first one.
I had hesitation.
I had questions.
But I showed up.
And that became the beginning.
Abide Before You Ask
John 15:7 says:
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
Before authority comes abiding.
Before asking comes relationship.
Before ministry comes Jesus.
That’s important because Kingdom living isn’t about learning spiritual techniques.
It begins with remaining connected to Christ.
His Word living in us.
His desires shaping ours.
His life flowing through ours.
Everything else grows from there.
Crucified With Christ
Galatians 2:20 gives us another foundation:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”
That changes the meaning of obedience.
Christian obedience isn’t merely:
“I have to do what God says.”
It’s surrender.
My life belongs to Jesus.
My plans belong to Jesus.
My gifts belong to Jesus.
My voice belongs to Jesus.
My future belongs to Jesus.
And if He asks me to show up somewhere I would not have chosen for myself—
yes, Lord.
Seek First the Kingdom
Matthew 6:33 tells us:
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…”
First.
Not after everything else works out.
Not after we’re comfortable.
Not after everybody understands.
Not after fear disappears.
First.
That means sometimes obedience rearranges our priorities.
God’s Kingdom becomes more important than our convenience.
His assignment becomes more important than our preference.
His voice becomes more important than the opinions around us.
And slowly, our lives begin coming into alignment with what we said we believed all along:
Jesus is Lord.
Live by His Word
Matthew 4:4 appears here in the very first livestream:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
And now, looking back through these early messages, I can see how foundational that Scripture became.
Live by what God says.
Not fear.
Not circumstances.
Not somebody else’s opinion.
Not your own limited understanding.
His Word.
The Bible gives us something solid when everything around us is changing.
If God said it, we have something to stand on.
All Things Are Yours
First Corinthians 3:21 contains an extraordinary statement:
“All things are yours.”
That requires maturity to understand.
It isn’t an invitation to selfishness.
It is a reminder that through Christ, believers have received an extraordinary inheritance.
Second Peter 1:3 tells us that God’s divine power has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness.
God hasn’t called us into Kingdom life and then left us unequipped to live it.
He has provided.
The question becomes:
Do we know what He provided?
And there it is—the seed of a message that would continue appearing throughout these livestreams:
Know your inheritance.
Walk in the Light
First John 1:7 reminds us that if we walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
Kingdom authority doesn’t eliminate the need for repentance.
It increases our desire for fellowship.
We don’t need to hide bitterness.
Disappointment.
Sin.
Offense.
Fear.
Unbelief.
Bring it into the light.
Let Jesus cleanse it.
Freedom doesn’t come from pretending nothing is wrong.
Freedom comes from bringing everything to Him.
Take Back the Territory
Luke 10:19 reminds believers of the authority Jesus gives His followers over the power of the enemy.
There are places where fear, destructive patterns, sin, trauma, bitterness, or generational dysfunction may have occupied far too much territory.
But Jesus changes the story.
Through Him, we don’t have to remain passive.
We can pray.
We can repent.
We can forgive.
We can resist evil.
We can break agreement with destructive patterns.
We can renew our minds.
We can establish new patterns of obedience.
We can bring our families before God.
We can live differently.
Taking back territory isn’t merely shouting at darkness.
Sometimes taking back territory looks like:
being the first person in your family to obey God differently.
His Power Has Provided
Second Peter 1:3 tells us that God’s divine power has given us what we need for life and godliness.
Philippians 4:13 reminds us that our strength comes through Christ.
So when God calls us somewhere beyond our natural comfort, our first response doesn’t have to be:
“Can I do this?”
A better question might be:
“Did He ask me?”
Because if God assigned it, He is able to supply what obedience requires.
That’s how supernatural living begins.
Not with becoming impressive.
With dependence.
He Can Use All of It
Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Even the uncomfortable parts.
Even the mistakes.
Even the hesitation.
Even the things we wish had happened differently.
God is an extraordinary Redeemer.
Nothing surrendered to Him has to be wasted.
And So I Showed Up
That’s really the testimony of this first livestream.
I showed up.
I didn’t know what these sessions would become.
I didn’t know what messages would emerge.
I didn’t know there would eventually be an archive to look back through.
I didn’t know that months later I would revisit these early livestreams and discover themes running through them that I couldn’t see while I was living them.
I simply knew God was asking me to obey.
So I showed up.
And then I showed up again.
And again.
And again.
Sometimes we imagine that purpose begins with a spectacular moment.
Sometimes it does.
But sometimes purpose begins much more quietly:
God says,
“Go.”
And somebody answers,
“Yes.”
The Yes Has to Keep Living
The first yes isn’t the only yes.
Every new level of obedience presents another opportunity to surrender.
Yes when it’s exciting.
Yes when it’s inconvenient.
Yes when people understand.
Yes when they don’t.
Yes when you feel equipped.
Yes when you’re completely aware that without God you cannot do it.
The goal isn’t to become fearless enough that obedience becomes easy.
The goal is to love and trust Jesus enough that He remains worth the yes.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for every invitation You give us to participate in Your purposes.
Forgive us for the times we have delayed obedience because we wanted complete understanding before taking the first step.
Teach us to abide in Jesus.
Let Your Word abide richly within us.
Cleanse our hearts through the blood of Christ and bring every hidden place into Your light.
Teach us our identity and inheritance in Christ, not so that we become focused on ourselves, but so that we are equipped to serve Your Kingdom and help others find freedom.
Give us courage to take back territory through repentance, forgiveness, truth, prayer, renewed minds, and faithful obedience.
And when You ask us to move—
give us grace to say:
Yes, Lord.

Kingdom Reflection
What could be waiting on the other side of an obedience I keep postponing?
You don’t have to know the whole story.
Sometimes you just have to give God the first page.
